Small Business minister to grace business breakfast

The Thusong and Isivivana Centre will play host to an event where locals in business will network and find solutions.

The Khayelitsha Business over Breakfast will take place on Thursday 9 February and will be a network opportunity for local enterprisers.

Discussions for the day will include Companies and Intellectual Properties Ccommission business registration, the importance of paying tax, banking, business and crime, BEE, health and Electricity issues amoungst others.

One of the key speakers will be the Minister for Small Business, Lindiwe Zulu.

“The event will create a platform for up and coming young businessman and woman, ordinary hard working men and women to meet and interact, to find ways or solutions, to share resources with clear emphasis on building township economy while networking, sharing business ideas and formulas and fighting crime in business, which is crippling our economy,” said organiser Gerald Nomlala.

He said they are hoping to draw SMME’s who are in Khayelitsha and surrounding townships.

“Mostly young professionals with spending power and energy to take their small businesses to the next level. Here we are talking about men and women, young and old. Our attendees will mostly come from Khayelitsha, Mitchell’s Plain, Phillipi, Nyanga, Guguletu and surrounding areas,” he added.
