Teacher wellness talkshop

2016-05-26 06:00

Earthchild Project is hosting a one-day Teacher Wellness Convention on Saturday, May 28, at the Observatory Community Centre.

Teacher absenteeism and burnout are like a plague in our schools. According to Basic Education’s Angie Motshekga, the average teacher is absent 19 days per year, which is the highest in the Southern African Development Community.

Research shows that happy, healthy teachers facilitate happy, healthy children, which is why we need to look after our teachers. Workshops will be held on the day.

Tickets are highly subsidized and is aimed at enabling teachers from under-resourced schools to empower themselves with access to knowledge and tools to help relieve stress and improve well-being.
