A local business owner has showed his gratitude the best way he knows how, braaing meat and being hospitable.

Sindile Kama, is the owner of 50 on Gugs butchery, were more than 50 elderly residents were treated to a scrumptious meal, clothing and entertainment.

This was Kama’s way of thanking residents of NY50 where he operates his tshisanyama and has been doing so for the last three years.

“This is the third year that we(are) hosting this thanks giving event for locals. It is my way of saying thank you for supporting my business.

I know that sometimes my clients get rowdy and the street is always full on the weekends, but today I want to say thank you for putting up with us,” he said.

On the day, the residents received a meal, jackets, t-shirts and caps from a communications company.

“We spoke to T-Systems who agreed to donate the clothing to us and we are happy because as you can see the weather is still bad even though we are no longer in winter.

We also received drinks from a beverages company.

Kama said that it was important for local businesses to show gratitude to residents who support and protect their businesses based in the townships.

“Business break-ins and robberies are things that do happen but we always have our communities looking out for us.

We then have to have a way of saying thank you to the community,” said Kama.

One of the lucky residents to benefit from Kama’s hospitality, Peggy Mabedla said that she enjoyed the meals.
