THE 90th edition of the Comrades Marathon this weekend brings with it, not only an extended route for the up run, but it also features a range of milestones for every participant taking on this internationally recognised and epic event. For the seasoned campaigners it is an annual event bringing with it guts and glory unfolding after months of sacrifice in training.

Checkout Verulam Falcons participants also take with them various aspirations. Newcomer Sarika Seur will be taking this magnificent race as a novice. Seur admitted being excited yet nervous as the up run does post a daunting challenge.

Falcons leading contender David Mfeka hopes to run a sub 7 hours 30 minutes time to get another prized silver medal. With Khanye Hlongwa, Marlene Pillay and Judy Reddy leading the Falcons women’s challenge. Stalwarts Mike Padaychee and Dhiren Govender will be all focused on clinching their Green Number on the completion of 10 races. Logan Pillai will be hoping to complete his 20th race and securing a Double Green number. The Falcons hosted the traditional Comrades Chairman’ s Run the past Saturday with injected camaraderie and motivation.

On Sunday Falcons Members also participated in The Big Walk, while others participated in the popular Asmals Hyper Save Series.
