THE Checkout Group and Safa Tongaat have partnered to boost local football with a R16 500 sponsorship and thousands of rands in vouchers at their sponsorship launch at Watson Park recently.

The sponsorship will be used for the junior and senior league divisions.

Safa Tongaat president, Kuga Padayachee said they are grateful for the partnership with the Checkout Group and they hope this will help create a legacy for future generations through sport.

“This is a meaningful partnership for which, on behalf of Safa Tongaat, we want to thank the Checkout Group for entering with us,” said Padayachee.

“ This partnership with the Checkout Group is going to ensure football is taken to every enclave of Tongaat.”

Padayachee commended the group for keeping the community at heart and promoting the beautiful game to uplift the community through sport.

Checkout Group sales and training manager, Smiley Govender said the company has taken a stand to help empower the community by ensuring the access to amateur football and advancement of the sport to the next level.

Marketing co-ordinator for the Checkout Group, Ben Naidoo said the focus of Checkout and their community outreach projects is to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone especially the youth.

“We as the Checkout Group want to uplift the community and we see this partnership as a way of achieving this goal.

Our main target is the lower LSM areas and making a difference where we can,” said Naidoo.
