OPUS1 and Mooi River Home Textiles will be celebrating their sixth year in Tongaat this December and to add to the normal Christmas activities they will be having an even bigger sale than normal and will extend the period for three weeks.

Yvonne Naidoo, manager of the factory shop, remembers the first sale.

“We put up a marquee in the front garden and sold out of cardboard boxes, then the skies opened and it poured with rain. All the customers helped us carry in the stock to keep it dry. Many of those customers still come and buy from us, and have become friends as much as customers.”

Opus1 design and manufacture for the main South African retail chains and export markets in Africa and Europe. We also design and develop our own collection of bedlinen for the independent retailers. The fabrics we use are normally 100% cotton and we specialise in high- thread count, top quality fabrics, but we do include a polycotton plain dye collection for easy care.

Everything is manufactured right here in Tongaat, keeping up its long tradition of a textile centre of quality. Put a big note in your diary for this year’s Christmas and birthday sale from 28 November to 21 December.

Our products are made in South Africa.
