YOUNG Champts, tournament winners of the Verulam SAFA pre-season knockout cup, were treated to a sumptuous meal generously donated by Chico’s Everyday Grocers.

The budding soccerites, who worked hard to claim gold in their respective age groups, waited with great anticipation for this kind gesture from Chico’s Grocers.

The executive committee of the Verulam LFA said: “We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for their generosity and for helping us further the game of football in Verulam.”

This week will feature only under 17 and under 19 games in order to select a team for the up and coming Engen Cup.

The following games will be played at the Verulam Recreation Grounds on Saturday 14 May:

Game 1: Juventus vs. Powerstars (11am)

Game 2: Arrows vs. Green Leaf (11.45am)

Game 3: Cosmos vs. Big Happy Family (12.45)

Game 4: Seven Stars vs. Young Teenagers (1.45pm)

Game 5: Verulam Under 17 Squad 1 vs. Tongaat (2.45pm)

On Sunday the 15 May (under 19 only):

Game 1: Juventus vs. T.P. Rangers (11am)

Game 2: Verulam Unted vs. Green Leaf (12)

Game 3: PowerStars vs. Young Teenagers (1pm)

Once again all teams are urged to hand in their registrations at 5pm on Sunday 15 May.

No registration will be accepted after this deadline.
