THE Checkout Verulam Falcons hosted an informal birthday celebration in honour of its vice chairperson Krish Vadivelu who turned 70 last Saturday, May 13.
Retired Vadivelu has dedicated his life to giving back in the Verulam community which has made him a prominent resident of the area.
He is the vice chairperson of the Verulam Day Care Centre committee, vice chairperson of Checkout Verulam Falcons AC and member of the Tonver committee.
He is well known for his charitable endeavours as well as his running career.
His lustrous running career includes the comrades’ green number.
Falcons’ chairperson Yunus Doba praised Vadivelu for motivating the members with his wisdom and support on the roadside as well as organizing fun runs that allowed various schools to be able to fund raise through their pupil participation.

A dedicated group of Falcons’ members braved the torrential downpour and sacrificed their Mother’s Day morning to attend Woodview Athletic Club Race.
