Falcons roar in 10km Challenge

CHECKOUT Verulam Falcon’s Phumelele Khuzwayo was the winner in the junior female category at the Women in Action Ladies 10km Challenge.

The youngster, who comes from Waterloo, was thrilled with her first victory.
She completed the race in 63 minutes. Celiwe Ndaba, who has been the motivator and mentor for Khuzwayo, walked the 10km in 80 minutes to finish second in the 10km walk.

The Women in Action 10km was run on a flat route through the suburbs of Chatsworth. Checkout Supermarket Group was the main sponsor of the event.

Felokwakhe Nxumalo returned to the road after his comrades Marathon 2017 finish, to completed the 10km run in 58 minutes.

Agnes Sangweni and Cecilia Zweni completed the run in 65 minutes and 80 minutes respectively.
Eddie Singh, accompanied Celiwe Ndaba in the 10km walk.

The 24th leg of the Falcon’s development league – HyperSave Series - took place last Sunday.

The public is asked to join and maintain their fitness as well as improve their running or walking capabilities.

Chris Peters, Yugesh Thaver and Shirley Marie have joined and are enjoying the benefits of their morning 10km walk.
