Falcons’ runner wins Ntenga Foundation Charity 10km walk

THE Ntenga Foundation Charity 10km and 5km run/walk was held on the Youth Day, June 16.

Athletes were treated to a free bus ride to the start at Moses Madiba Stadium. The race concluded at uShaka Marine World, where athletes were granted free entrance to uShaka’s Wet ‘n Wild.

Falcons’s top female walker Celiwe Ndaba displayed her walking prowess by winning the female 10km walk in a time of 01:11.

Her mentor Eddie Singh completed in 01:03 to finish third in the male’s 10km walk.

Celiwe Ndaba and Eddie Singh came first in their respectively age categories. Vitasha Ramnarayan completed the 10km run in 58 minutes as the first Falcons’ runner. She was followed by Suzie Ruthnam (01:19), who said she enjoyed the flat and scenic route.

On Father’s Day, Falcons club held the 17th leg of its development league, Asmal’s HyperSave Series after three-week break.

The community of the Verulam and surrounding areas are welcome to join the development league. - Supplied.
