ON 18 July many South Africans celebrated Mandela Day by devoting 67 minutes of their time to helping someone less fortunate in remembrance of Nelson Mandela.

This year the Misty Blue Group honour Tata Madiba by helping out at the Verulam Day and Frail Care Centre, a non-profit organisation that provides support and care for the terminally ill.

The organisation runs an inpatient frail care facility, an outpatient day care centre, and for many underprivileged senior citizens in the Greater Durban area, the Verulam Day and Frail Care Centre enables them to live in comfort and with dignity during their final days.

Realising that the NPO needed support, representatives from The Square Boutique Hotel & Spa, The Waterfront Hotel & Spa, Urban Park Hotel & Spa, The Imperial Hotel and Auberge Hollandaise Guesthouse (properties within the Misty Blue Group)
visited the Verulam Day and Frail Care Centre to donate second-hand kitchen equipment and bedding.

The centre staff were overwhelmed with the donation, which provided them with much-needed equipment to improve their patient’s quality of life, and the Misty Blue Group is privileged to do their part in improving the lives of others and honouring the legacy of Nelson Mandela. - Supplied.
