Inaugural golf day for child welfare

2016-07-14 06:00

TONGAAT Child Welfare is inviting all interested golfers to show off their skills at the first ever Tongaat Child Welfare Golf Day at the Maidstone Country Club on Sunday, 7 August starting at 10am.

The inaugural event is two-fold as it will be held in honour of women and to launch the annual Charity Fair.

The fair will be held from Wednesday, 31 August to 4 September 2016.

The main sponsors of the event are Mediclinic Victoria and Dr Sudeshan Govender and family.

Social work manager Jo Moodley thanked the major sponsors for their kind donation towards the inaugural event.

“The golf day is going to become an annual event. The event will be very exciting as golfers can bring their families as well. There will be prizes, treats and other culinary delights,” said Moodley.

Women attending the event will be treated to pamper sessions and other goodies.

The tee off for golfers is 11am and entry fee is R300 per golfer which includes green fees and prizes.

Moodley said they will also host a women’s event on Friday, 5 August 2016.

“The free event will be held for deserving women in the community. More information will be provided closer to the event.”

Moodley urged community members and keen golfers to support this charity event.

“Companies can also play their part by sponsoring a hole at the golf day at a cost of R3000 or give a donation to the organisation.”

Interested golfers and sponsors can contact Jo Moodley or Devi Naidoo on 032 944 1514 or email devirani@tcw.org.za for further information.
