A TONGAAT resident has been inspired to do what he can to help others after reading the Coastal Weekly two weeks ago.

Last week an inspired Johnny Munsamy bought a new pair of shoes for a primary school pupil and this week he fed 20 children at Angels Park.

The senior citizen said it began when he read a story in the Weekly about community leader Viggie Padayachee and her hopes to see everyone in Tongaat doing something to help others.

“I read the story and I thought I also wanted to do something to help,” said Munsamy.

“Even if it’s something small I can help a child or make a difference.”

Munsamy said he hoped others would also do something, no matter how small, because if everyone does their bit even a little then it would make a huge difference, especially in the lives of children.

“I’m really inspired and I want to do more especially to bring joy to the children,” said Munsamy.

Padayachee, who had made the call for people to do even the smallest gesture to help another, thanked Munsamy for his gestures and said several others have since contacted her from around Durban to help make a difference.
