SOME of the biggest names in South African comedy will share the stage this festive season when the star-studded Joke Masters­ Comedy Show takes place at the Durban City Hall on 21 and 22 December.

The epic comedy show features Joey Rasdien, Marc Lottering, Darren Maule, Neville Pillay, The Dingalings and Masood Boomgaard in what is sure to be an unforgettable rib-tickling experience that is sure deliver laughter in buckets.

Headlining the show is Rasdien, widely regarded as one of the greatest comedians the country has ever produced.

From TV to movies, to touring the world and performing on the biggest standup comedy stages­, Rasdien has done it all. He is loved for his high energy, original “thinking man’s” brand of comedy and is hot off the success of his most recent solo show Evolved.

Joining Rasdien is fellow legend Marc Lottering, a Cape Town icon, whose great storytelling and character comedy has taken him around the world. One of South Africa’s most popular comedians, Lottering recently enjoyed huge success with his show Hashtag Lottering.

Expect hilariously captivating stories about life, love and everything in between from this comedy giant.

Heading up the proudly Durban contingent of the show is Darren Maule, best known for his antics as host of the East Coast Radio breakfast show.

Maule’s razor sharp wit has earned him legions of fans across the country. He regularly appears alongside the best in the business.

Also from the world of radio is Neville Pillay, a veteran of the comedy stage and Lotus FM DJ.

Pillay knows Durban like no other comedian and offers hilarious quips that hit home, exploring the uniqueness of the Indian community.

No Durban line-up will be complete without the “Dingalings”, Henry Ramkissoon and Koobeshan Naidoo, who have gained a cult following over the years with a string of smash hit productions.

The versatile duo are known for their “relationship comedy”, sometimes exploring the topics of marriage and love with brutal honesty, but always leaving audience members rolling in the aisles with laughter in doing so.

The star-studded show will be hosted by Masood Boomgaard.

The Joke Masters Comedy Show takes place at the Durban City Hall on 21 and 22 December at 8pm. Tickets are R120,R150 and R250 from Computicket and Checkers.
