THE Belvedere Multi Skills Centre handed over 6 000 soft toys to Checkers Tongaat.

The branch manager, Malcolm Viswanathan and staff accepted the gifts from the centre members, Pushpa Govender and Yongani Naidoo.

These items will be distributed to underprivileged children in informal areas.

Checkers Tongaat complimented this hard-working team for their efforts and praised them for taking their social responsibility serious.

Vigie Padayachee from the Tongaat Central Library said she was amazed at the dedication and commitment of all the ladies.

“It is not very often that we come across a group of ladies, working quietly and respectfully working for over the years, not really knowing their intentions until they
finally come out and produce great work that benefits our disadvantaged communities.

“I’m truly grateful and appreciate the work undertaken by these ladies. I appeal to more ladies to join these forums and become empowered and add value to society.” said Govender. - Supplied.
