Firearm stolen during break-in: Verulam -

On Monday May at approximately 11.45am members of Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) were dispatched to Kensington Close in Dawncrest after receiving reports of a house break-in.

Upon arrival officers found that forced entry was gained via a window. The entire residence was ransacked. A 9mm Lorcin with seven rounds of ammunition, jewellery and other household items were stolen.

Police uniform stolen: Verulam -

Rusa officers responded to a call in Southridge Circle in Verulam regarding a break in on 2 May at approximately 1pm.

Upon arrival officers found that a garage being used by a policeman to store his goods was broken into. Two packets - one containing taps and a second containing a police uniform - were stolen.

Officers patrolled the area in search of the suspect however, no arrests were made.

Common robbery: Verulam -

Reaction Unit received a call from woman reporting a robbery on Tuesday 3 May at approximately 8am. The woman said she had been robbed of her handbag on Old Main Road in Ottawa.

Officers were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival were informed that the suspect had grabbed her bag and fled towards the railway line.

Officers patrolled the area in search of the suspects, but no arrests were made.

Theft of motor vehicle: Verulam -

The community is urged to be on the lookout for a white, 2006 model, Isuzu bakkie with registration NUR 22654. The vehicle was stolen from Ireland Street in the Verulam CBD on 6 May. Identifying features include a black bonnet and a silver roll bar.

Pedestrian hit: Verulam -

A female was seriously injured after she was knocked down by the driver of a Ford Ikon on Old Main Road in Ottawa. At approximately 1pm on 7 May members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene of the accident after receiving several requests for medical requests for the injured woman.

Upon arrival the female was stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital.

It is alleged that she was knocked down while crossing the road to get to her vehicle.
