WEEKLY REPORTER

SAPS Tongaat Vispol members arrested a total of 64 suspects for various crimes recently.
The arrests were made during crime prevention patrols, roadblocks and stop-and-search operations in the Tongaat area and surrounds.  Tongaat SAPS spokesperson Captain Patrick Ngwane said: “The arrests include 16 cases for driving while under the influence of liquor, 13 cases for drunk and disorderly, 16 cases for possession of dagga, eight cases for possession of heroin, two cases for possession of cocaine, one case for possession of Mandrax, seven cases for dealing in liquor without a license and two cases for possession of property suspected to be stolen.”

The station commander Colonel Santha Moodley commended the members for their commitment and dedication that resulted in 64 suspects being arrested.

She said the arrests will serve as a warning to criminals that the police will not rest until all criminals are behind bars.
