CONDOLENCES keep pour in for a 26-year-old Verulam woman who died in hospital after being critically injured in a head-on collision involving three cars on Inanda Road in Verulam on Friday.
Camy Govender was found by paramedics still trapped inside her car and it was reported that she was in a critical condition.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment where she died after days of fighting for her life.

Friends and relatives posted their condolences to the family on Facebook.
Crissandra Govender posted: “Condolences to Camy’s family. It is sad that Camy was robbed of her life. Gone to soon girl. You [are] in a much better place where you feel no pain. Pray that you get justice girl. Today a beautiful soul is called to rest in peace.”

Lynn Padayachee said: “Condolences to my family. Beautiful Camy is now resting in peace. May the Lord keep you safe in his arms. May the Lord provide strength and courage to our family during this sad time.”
Mandisha Maharaj said: “My friend and colleague. How do we say goodbye to such a sweet gorgeous and totally awesome person. The many times you played those so serious faced pranks that kept us laughing for ages. I will miss you dear friend.”
Nelly Ngcobo Zungu said: “I still remember her face from primary school, shocked. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Selfish drivers should be punished who rob innocent people’s lives full stop.”
Rachael Matthew Naidoo posted: “I am deeply saddened by the loss of this beautiful and sweet baby girl. May her soul rest in peace. I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to the family especially her dad [father] who is a very close friend. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this irreparable loss in your life. We as a community must stand together to make sure her perpetrator is brought to justice. It is indeed heartbreaking for me to see a young and beautiful girl snatched away in the prime of her life.”

Attempts to get a comment from the family were unsuccessful until the time of going to press.
Govender was laid to rest on Sunday after at a funeral service at her home in Brindhaven, Verulam.
In a separate accident on Monday, a woman who was among 11 people who were injured on the R102 in Verulam died on her arrival at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital.
According to paramedics, the woman was travelling in a taxi when a truck side swiped the taxi they were in causing it to veer off the road and overturn.

Spokesperson for Netcare 911 Chris Botha said in a statement: “The wreckage of the truck came to rest on its side in the centre median, the crumpled remains of the taxi were found on the roadway with some of the injured still trapped.
“Fire fighters used the Jaws of Life to free the injured while medics worked tirelessly to stabilise the patients. The two critically injured females [women] were placed on ventilators at the scene, one was then airlifted to a specialised hospital for the care that she required. The other critically injured female and nine seriously injured people were transported to various hospitals for further care.

“Tragically the critically injured female that was airlifted to hospital died soon after arriving at the hospital due to the extensive injuries that she sustained.”
