African Bucks want ‘top-of-league-log’ place

AFRICAN Bucks Football Club is to fight for the top position in the Greater Kokstad Local Football Association league when it takes on Zamalek FC and Bhubesi FC at Riverview Stadium on Sunday.
The first game is African Bucks against Zamalek at 9.40am. The second is African Bucks and Bhubesi FC at 2.20pm.

African Bucks chairman, Gift Jikijela­ said the team is not making any changes to the team.

Last Saturday, Liverpool FC beat African Bucks 1-0.

Liverpool is top of the log with 94 points after 40 games, scoring 104 goals. Liverpool has won 28 games, lost two and drew 10.

African Bucks are second on the log with 92 points and 73 goals after playing 39 games. African Bucks has lost five games, drew five and won 29.

Next week the football association will release the final log standings and announce the league winner and promote it to play in the South African Breweries (SAB) league.

Juveniles FC and Young Brothers FC have withdrawn from the league, while Bhubesi FC have shown tenacity after playing 39 games, winning 25 games. The Esayidi Technical and Vocational Education and Training College students’ team participated for the first time in the league and is in fourth position with 75 points.
