ATHLETES from Forever Young Athletics Club are delighted after coming home with medals.

Four athletics - Peter Louwrens, Walter Oelofse, Richard Ingram and Marlene Jacobs - participated in the KZN championship at the Chatsworth stadium recently and returned home with 15 medals.

Louwrens took part in his first master’s championship and won bronze in the 200m and silver in the 40-45 age group.

Oelofse used his experience to earn four gold medals for 100m, 200m, 400m, and javelin in the 60 age group.

In the 65 year age Jacobs earned gold in the 100m, 200m, javelin, discus and shot put. She also earned silver for the 400m.

Ingram earned gold in the 200m, 400m and 400m hurdles, impressing everyone with his excellent time in the 400m. Everyone was impressed after his excellence time - 57:73 seconds - in the 400m, achieving this without proper training on a tartan track.

The club wishes everything of the best for all the best for Ingram and Oelofse as they are going to compete in Gauteng North Championships in Pretoria this weekend. - Supplied.
