FOR Sizwe Nzimande (20), of Ngxowa village in Bulwer, being blind doesn’t stop him achieving his dream.
Nzimande, called “Chaos” is a local artist who sings maskandi music at events. He also plays the piano and guitar.

He was recently spotted by Fever journalist performing at the Harry Gwala Summer Cup 2016 in Underberg and people were thrilled to see a blind artist performing.

“I started singing Maskandi music on the streets of Pietermaritzburg in 2007. Last year I released a 10-song CD.”

In April he released his first album Racism Must Fall, which has 13 songs.
“After I completed matric last year I chose to focus on music instead of pursuing my studies. I love Maskandi music and people support me.”

“Blind people must not think about their condition, instead they should strive for success.
“Blindness is not going to stop me from achieving my dream. I want to be a role model to other blind people so they are motivated when they see my success.”
