THE best performing schools and pupils in the 2015 matric examinations were awarded at a ceremony at Ixopo last Thursday.

The Harry Gwala District pass rate is 62%, a two percent drop from 2014’s 64%. Of KZN’s 11 districts, Harry Gwala is in fourth position.

The best pass rate by the district was 70.6%, in 2013.

Bulwer’s Ngonyama High was the best performing school and the only school to achieve a 100% pass.

Bursaries, registration fees, iPads, uniform vouchers and trophies were handed out.

Ngonyama High 100%

Little Flower - 98.3%

Mdingi High - 96.9%

Ixopo High - 96.4%

Kokstad College - 94.7%

Entsikeni High - 92.7%

Indawana High - 91.1%

Ndela High - 89.8%

Carl Malcomess - 86.8%

Centocow High - 86.5%

Top three pupils in the district

Sifiso Ngqolosi - Clydesdale Senior Secondary

Noluthando Dludla - Impiyamandla High

Kwanele Nzimande - Little Flower High.
