Comedians rock Kokstad

2016-04-22 06:00

TWO of KZN’s funniest comedians, Arnotte Payne and Kelvin Stofels, left many people laughing out loud at a comedy festival at Kokstad town hall last Saturday.
The event, attended by more than 100 people, was organised by Timothy Kok and his wife Luche Stacey-lee.

The crowd were not disappointed about the non-availability of Melvyn David, who was also expected to entertain, but due to family issues was unable to.
Kok told Fever that inviting comedians to Kokstad was to bring joy to everyone, young and old, and encourage families to spend time together. “We want families to have fun without the need for alcohol or vulgar language.”

Payne is not only a comedian, he is a motivator, actor, singer, instrumentalist and public speaker. He has performed with Eugene Khoza, Nick Ribnovitz, Trevor Noah and others at the Suncoast Casino and Sibaya.

Stofels has been on stage with comedians Dusty Rich, Niel Green, Masod Boomgaard and many others.

When he walked on stage the audience cheered him on because he walked like a “kasi” boy (township boy).

Kok thanked the people of Kokstad who supported the show.
