Conference brings hope for youth

AT a youth conference in Bhongweni Youth Centre on April 29, young people were told to seek and grab opportunities that are available to them in government and the private sector.

The conference was organised by Centre for Moral Value and Justice, an NPO.

Vuyo Landa, founder of the NPO said many young people from disadvantaged areas need to be motivated to achieve their goals.

She said the NPO was established in December to help young people reach their destiny.

“The aim of the NPO is to visit schools in rural areas to motivate young people to study hard in order pass with distinctions and go to tertiary institutions.

“We also visit young people in orphanages and donate food parcels and clothes, and also give them hope,” said Landa.

Shayamoya Secondary­ and Carl Malcomess High matric pupils, young business people, company owners and Kokstad businesswoman, Bathandwa Vazi, also attended the conference.

NPO members will also help matriculants to apply at tertiary institutions and provide career guidance.
