SIPHIWE Mpakumpaku (18) was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment, five of which were suspended by the Kokstad Magistrate’s Court last week.
Mpakumpaku was accused of stealing the cellphone of Giano Gavanagh (17) in March 2015.
His friend Xola Giwu, who was involved in a knife robbery, is facing a pending case.

Phumlani Ntshintsha (32), opened a case of house robbery at Jara Road in Bhongweni in March.
Masibulele Jikazi (17), Ziziphe Kutshwayo (19), Mnonopheli Mnqokoyi (19), and Lwando Sabisa (17) were found guilty of the house robbery and sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment, two of which were suspended.

Ntshintsha heard the four accused enter his house. He was then tied by the accused, and a pillow case was put in his mouth and over his eyes. His TV, fridge, cellphone and a backpack were taken, the total value of which is R11 450. - Supplied.
