Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Local Municipality viewpoint

2017-01-27 06:01

WARM greetings to Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma citizens, this is another week granted to us by the Almighty above. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who played a role and participated in our back-to-school programme this year - you have made a huge difference to the pupils in the schools that were visited.

We are proud to announce we have awarded pupils with full bursaries to enable them to study in a university of their choice because we recognise hard work and dedication.

To the Class of 2017, we say the sky is not the limit as we have footprints on the moon.

Once again I thank stakeholders that contributed towards making the matric award ceremony a success, your contribution will never go unnoticed. The day was a success and we congratulate those who received awards for their hard work and dedication.

Our goal is to be change agents of our communities and inspire confidence in the youth because they are the future.

The council of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Local Municipality through the local economic development unit aims to enable local stakeholders to devise and implement a development approach that exploits local resources and capacities, and effectively utilises the area’s advantages. It is also mandated to promote economic development; employment creation, economic transformation and economic growth within the municipal area.

The Community Tourism Organisation is one of the key instruments or catalyst for promoting the development of tourism at Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Municipality. Local municipalities have an important role to play in tourism development, hence many of the heritage monuments as well as sites are found in communities, so we call on our people to use the services offered by our tourism office in Underberg and inquire about the programmes that are available, that office is there to assist you.

Everything that man can imagine, he is capable of creating. We call upon our citizens to be pro-active and focus on being the producers of goods and services. Let us uplift our local economy, and as the municipality we are there to offer our support.

Until next time stay blessed.
