Football feast this weekend

FOOTBALL teams under Greater Kokstad Local Football Association League are going head-to-head this weekend. Liverpool FC is on top of the log with 83 points followed by African Bucks FC with 83.

When the league started last year, both teams had never played each other, however, next month they are to face one another.

In the league, Liverpool FC has played 35 games, won 25, lost two and has scored 82 goals.

African Bucks has played 35 games, won 26, lost four and scored 66 goals.

They have four games left before the league ends.

“This weekend, African Bucks is not playing and players will be in training,” said Gift Jikijela, African Bucks chairman.

Last Saturday African Bucks beat FET 2-0, Bush Bucks FC beat Warriors FC 1-0, and Fighters FC drew 1-1 against Bhubesi FC.

Last Sunday, African Bucks beat Vegas FC 1-0, FET beat Winter Roses 8-0, Bhubesi beat Master 11 FC 1-0, Liverpool beat Bub 3-0, Eastern Rangers beat Bush Bucks 2-1, African Bucks beat Winter Roses 8-0 and Master 11 drew 1-1 against Two For Joy FC.

Tomorrow Liverpool FC faces FET at the Murray Park Stadium at 3pm. They also play Winter Roses in Riverview Stadium at 10am on Sunday.

When the league ends by the end of July, the team on top of the league log will that will be promoted to play in the South African Breweries league.
