‘Investigate fraudulent qualifications’ - ANCYL

2017-08-04 06:00

THE ANC Youth League (ANCYL) is calling for an in-depth inspection of qualifications of senior government officials and municipality officials in the Harry Gwala region.

A statement released by the league revealed that “government departments officials are working in senior positions without having the proper qualifications.

“Without mentioning names the league wants government to take action by investigating the suspected officials.”

Harry Gwala ANCYL secretary, Qiniso Ntozakhe said if government does not act quickly in the matter they will name and shame officials who are involved.

He said some officials from local municipalities in Harry Gwala, including the district municipality, used fraudulent certificates to gain senior positions.

“The league understands that not having a qualification is not a shame, but claiming to have it when you do not is a serious crime that must be subjected to law enforcement agencies,” said Ntozakhe.

He said there are many young people in Harry Gwala who are sitting at home with qualifications and the league is going to fight for them to get jobs.

“We want officials, who have defrauded municipalities by using false qualifications, are removed with immediate effect and replaced by young, qualified people,” said Ntozakhe.
