CHILLY weather did not stop investors from Matatiele and surrounding areas from waiting outside the offices of Growth Point Solution hoping to get their invested money from the alleged investment scheme owners on Monday.

When Fever reporter arrived at the offices more than 100 people were waiting to find out where the owners were.

Those who invested their money include pensioners, child support grant beneficiaries, government department employees and business owners.
They told Fever they believed in the scheme after owners produced a national credit regulator certificate to prove that it is legal.
However, people became suspicious after the owners did not arrive at the offices on 26 June to pay some investors.
People and the Fever reporter have phoned the scheme number many times, but the phone went to voicemail. Some investors went to Kokstad to find the owners of the scheme, but couldn’t find them.

Lepula Makitela earns an old-age grant and has been investing his money since April.
“I am in shock after I invested a lot of money. The owners of the scheme looked innocent when they arrived in Matatiele.”

Another investor, a business- woman, Nosiseko Nxayimbi said she invested the last bit of money she had hoping to “earn” more.

“I took my last R12 000 from my business hoping to get more. Now I have nothing and my business is going down,” said Nxayimbi.

Police spokesperson Raphael Motloung said investors must report their situation to the national credit regulator board to try and trace the scheme owners and so pay investors.
