Kokstad boxers in provincial tournament

KOKSTAD boxer, Bantu Ntshika (19), won a bronze medal after fighting a boxer District­ Municipality at a provincial tournament in Durban last Saturday.

It was the first time Ntshika has fought in a provincial tournament and said next time he will win gold.

Ntshika and Avumile Gxiya and Ezile Bokotho were in the tournament representing Harry Gwala District.

Gxiya won some matches but lost one and as a result did not reach the finals. Bokotho was disqualified because he did not have his identity document with him.

Boxing coach Jean Nyembezi thanked boxers for participating and said boxers will participate in local games. She said the U16 Kokstad boxers are preparing to box in Mount Frere this weekend in friendly matches.
