Kokstad netball player selected for national squad

KOKSTAD netball player, Siyasanga Estrice (18), is over the moon after being selected to play in the U19 national netball squad from May next year.

Siyasanga was selected after she played well in the national championships in Johannesburgfrom July 3 to 7. Siyasanga is in Grade 11 at Shayamoya­ High and plays centre.

Local netballers who participated in the national championships with Siyasanga include Lindiswa Qina and Ziyanda Ndzimbomvu.

Netball coach Simphiwe Cele is happy about Siyasanga’s achievement and said Siyasanga has “put Kokstad on the map”.

Mami Diale from Netball South Africaand Anneline Lewes presented Siyasanga with a trophy after the national championship games.

Five Harry Gwala netball players - Qaqamba Gugwana, Palesa Dlamini, Minentle Mayekisa, Yondela Maboee and Refiloe Nkesta - return to Kokstad today after participating in the U16 national championships in Durban.
