Kokstad netballer selected for winter games

AFTER participating in the U16 national netball championships in Durban from July 10 to 14, Refiloe Nketsa from Kokstad has been selected to participate in the winter games in Lesotho on August 20. Nketsa is a striker and defender.

Harry Gwala District netball coach Simphiwe Cele said Nketsa and 12 others will represent South Africa at the games.
He said six players were selected from Gauteng, one from KwaZulu-Natal, two from Western Cape, one from Limpopo and one from North West.

Countries under Southern African Development Community will participate in the winter games.

“Harry Gwala District is excited about Nketsa’s achievement and is a good example to netball players,” said Cele.

On July 29, Shayamoya High netball team will participate in the U19 games at Bongweni Youth Centre.
From August 2 to 5, Harry Gwala netball team will be training for the national schools challenge in Boksburg.

“I feel great and excited to be selected to represent my country in Lesotho. I thank my teammates and coaches­ for giving support to me,” said Nketsa.
