JACO Jacobs, a Matatiele man, is taking on a mammoth task by participating in the March 2017, 100 Mile Addo Elephant Trail Run to raise funds for charity.

Jacobs is asking for donations that will assist the home, Matatiele and District Society for the Care of the Aged.

“The home accommodates a number of our family members. I want people to lend a helping hand to people living and show that we care.
“I want people living there to see that they are not forgotten.

“All I need is for people to donate money,” said Jacobs.

The 100 Mile Addo Elephant Trail Run is 160 kilometres, with 5 640 metres being vertical climbing and 17 checkpoints.
In 2014 and 2015 he completed 40kms at the Ingeli Sky Marathon & Trail Run. In 2013, 2015 and 2016 he completed the 50km Rhodes Trail Run. In 2014 he competed in the 50km Lesotho Ultra Trail. Next month will begin preparations for Lesotho Ultra Trail.

“Trail running is my passion and a way of helping Matatiele and District Society for the Care of the Aged.
A few kilos extra is just the challenge I want so people must assist me in achieving this dream of helping the aged.”

“I am partnering with Matatiele Old Ducks Society to raise funds for the Matatiele and District Society for the Care of the Aged. We have planned five training events to raise funds. I hope to encourage runners and mountain bikers to join me on certain sections of these runs.”

Fund-raising training was held in Matatiele recently.
