Matatiele Local Municipality viewpoint

2016-11-18 06:00

SEASON’S greetings to you all.
Winding down 2016 on a high note

Your municipality continues to demonstrate why they call us “a winning municipality”. We’ve done it again - this time at the Kamoso Awards, organised by the Department of Roads & Public Works in Mthatha recently.

Matatiele LM was named the best public body with more work opportunities in the province award. Through the extended public works programme, we created more than 2 500 work opportunities in the past five years.

Public participation is key: 2017/2022 IDP Community Outreach

The Matatiele Local Municipality is once again embarking on a programme that allows you to make your voice heard.

In terms of Section 29 (i) and (ii) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, (Act 32 of 2000), you are invited to attend the 2017/2022 Integrated Development Plan (IDP) community outreach, which will start on Monday 21 November and run until Friday 25 November.

During this period the public will get an opportunity of sharing their ideas, successes and challenges with their leaders. This opportunity comes only once a year, so we encourage you to participate and attend the sessions in your ward.

Venues and dates will be communicated through your ward councillors, ward committees and community development workers.

Teams will be allocated and be led by the mayor, Cllr Momelezi Mbedla, members of the Executive Committee, councillors, managers, municipal officials, representatives from Alfred Nzo District Municipality and government departments. Don’t miss the boat please.
