GREETINGS to all residents of Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Municipality

Christmas is the day on which we can reflect on what we have achieved thus far in our lives and what we want to make with our lives in future. It is also a day of caring, giving and receiving, showering those around us with all the love they deserve and receiving their love and care in return.

It is a time of happiness and joy, but Christmas is also a stark reminder of those much less fortunate than us. Those people who have lost everything in life, their loved ones and those who cared about them. Among them are the poorest of the poor as well as many small children who do not know whether or not they will have a meal of any kind on Christmas Day.

When we sit down to enjoy our Christmas lunch, let us spare a thought for those underprivileged people and pray that one day they will be able to share in all the privileges that we, very often, take for granted. The Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Municipality is committed to building a better future for all - and each and every one of us should participate in achieving this wonderful goal.

There will be all kinds of festivities during this time and our wish is that you will enjoy it to the fullest. We hope that the many visitors to our shores will take the opportunity to visit some of the many exciting attractions this wonderful municipal area has to offer, including our internationally acclaimed Drakensberg Mountains.

On behalf of myself, the mayoral committee, councillors, municipal management and officials of Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, I wish all the residents of and the visitors of Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma municipal area, a most wonderful and blessed Christmas time and a prosperous new year.

On 20 December the municipality held awareness for women as well as the launch of women structure that will deal with the day to day issues that are faced by women in our society. This initiative by the Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Municipality working together with various stakeholders in Sukuma Sakhe will bear positive fruits in the long run as we believe that we are in a process of building a better community for our children, Sisazoqhuba nango 2017.

Stay Blessed.
