ANC leagues welcomed the election of Harry Gwala District Municipality Executive mayor and chairperson of the region at the provincial conference at the Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg last weekend.

Ndobe was elected deputy secretary, Sihle Zikalala was elected chairperson, Willies Mchunu­ was elected deputy chairperson, Super Zuma was elected secretary and Nomusa Dube-Ncube was elected treasurer.

ANCYL provincial spokesperson Mkhuseli Sondzaba said: “We are very proud of the collective that was elected at the conference and as comrades from Harry Gwala region, we are extremely proud of Ndobe.

“We believe Ndobe will do us proud in his new role, which was tasked to him by the conference with more than 1 400 voting delegates from branches across KwaZulu-Natal,” said Sondzaba.

Harry Gwala regional ANCWL secretary Ntuseng Mapasa Duma also welcomed the election of Ndobe and the top five structures of KZN ANC.

“As women’s league we are very happy and the election of new young blood will implement real ANC policies.
“We believe they have a vision and will take ANC forward,” said Duma.
