KENAN Classen, the youngest member of the Alzu men’s team, is looking forward to the inaugural Land Rover Durban Highgoal at Durban Shongweni Club from 27 to 29 May.
Kenan plays for Paddock Polocrosse Club and the tournament is his first High Goal tourney.

South Africa’s top polocrosse players are also ready to deliver some of the best action and excitement in the event.

“This fast-paced high-intensity sport is such a pleasure for spectators and players. The High Goal is the pinnacle on the polocrosse calendar.

“We are so excited to bring polocrosse to KwaZulu-Natal and look forward to this becoming an annual fixture at Shongweni, KZN’s premiere equestrian club,” said event organiser and Shongweni Polo- crosse Club chairman, Brent Von Benecke.

There will be eight teams competing for the top spot – four men’s and four ladies’ teams consisting of six players each. Each competitor is given a handicap which indicates his or her skill level, ranging from zero to 10 with 10 being one of the best in the world and zero being a beginner.

The combined handicaps of the six team-mates must have an average of between 42 and 45 (out of a possible 60), which means that the teams are of World Cup quality.
