SHAYAMOYA High School netball player Refiloe Nketsa (16) is thrilled after being selected for the national squad at the Confederation of Southern Africa School Sport Association (Cosassa) games in
Lesotho.

The games started this week at Lehakoe Stadium in Maseru and countries under Southern African Development Community are participating.

Refiloe, a Grade 10 pupil, is the goalkeeper and is the only KZN player selected for the squad.
“I started playing netball in 2008 and am happy to be part of the national squad.
“I am excited about this opportunity and want to play well in order for my team to win all our games,” she said.

Her goal is to be part of the national squad permanently and be a good example to young netballers. She encouraged netballers to play with passion and remain disciplined.

Last year she was one of the nine Shayamoya High pupils who went to Singapore for an international schools netball tournament.

Her teacher, Berbeto Mnikina congratulated Refiloe and wished her a safe journey.
“I am proud of her achievements and want to see her succeeding with her dreams,” said Mnikina.
