A TOTAL of 70 pupils from the Harry Gwala district have been selected to participate in the All Ages Netball Tournament in Durban today (Friday). The tournament is hosted once a year to identify and award talent in netball.

The U12 to U18 netball players will represent Harry Gwala at the provincial tournament which is expected to end tomorrow.
Chairperson of Greater Kokstad Netball Association, Bhebheto Mnikina said pupils that are participating in Durban were selected from local to district level.

“On April 21 we held local selections in Greater Kokstad and four primary schools and three secondary schools participated at the selection processes. District selections were held on April 26.”

Last year, Harry Gwala district did not participate in the national tournament because of a lack of funds after they won in the province. District netball coaches said they aim to win all provincial games and proceed to national level in July.
