THE contractor that is to build a sports field in Ixopo was introduced to the community by the Ubuhlebezwe Municipality mayor, Zamo Nxumalo at the sod turning recently. The sports field will have facilities for volleyball, netball and a soccer turf. ’
The municipality wants young people to participate in sport in order to keep them away crime, drugs and social ills that prevail.

“By building a sports facility we want young people to be active and host tournaments,” said Nxumalo.

He asked the community to work with the contractor in order for the work to be finished on time and said more jobs will be created during the construction of the sports field. - Supplied.
