HE is the first artist from Pietermatizburg to get international distribution.

“Riko Write”, real name Nkosinathi Sikhakhane (29), from Azalea has had his music distributed by five music stores in London.

He realised his passion forn music at the age of 10 and his dream came true when Music Write Media Records signed him under their recording label.

In 2010, he became a professional engineer, composer, singer and song writer.

“I spent most of my time in Durban, I grew up there. That is when I was exposed to learning about production. I did my high school education at Overport Secondary School.”

This year, Riko released his second album - Checkmate­.

“My album is currently available on all online stores, like ITunes, Amazon and Spotfiy, around the world. The album has 12 songs, including the hit Rule The World, which is available as a ring tone on iPhones only. This album is also on the world’s biggest music catalogue, Last FM.com which caters for super stars like Rihanna and Jay Z,” he said.

Riko has been featured in Move magazine as well as national publications such as Ilanga, The Witness and Isolezwe and he has been interviewed on East Coast Radio.

UMgungundlovu FM and Vibe FM have also interviewed him.

His last album, I Am in Love with My X, sold over 5 000 copies. Riko has shared the stage with Zahara, Black Coffee and Zakes Bantwini­
