Boxer shoppers – three times lucky

2015-09-24 06:00

FOR close to four decades Boxer has revolutionised its brand and offerings to its target market.

As times have changed and the needs of South Africans have become more price sensitive, Boxer has adapted its product offerings to ensure it gives customers value for money.

Competitions and giveaways have accompanied many of its promotions making shopping more exciting.

Recently all Boxer stores launched the “Washin with the Stars” campaign whereby customers who buy a three-kilogram Sunlight hand-washing powder, receive a free and exclusive to Boxer CD, while stocks last. The CD is one of a kind, created just for this campaign.

Comprising 12 number one hits, the Box Hits Volume 1 CD is a South African music lovers dream. Tracks include Gugo’thandaya by Mafikizolo and Weekend Special by Brenda Fassie and The Big Dubes, to just two.

The Box Hits Volume 1 CD is a limited offer and customers have been advised to be aware that it’s only available while stocks last.

Over and above this campaign Boxer launched a unique campaign titled “I Have a Dream” in which customers are required to purchase any two of the four advertised Unilever products to be eligible for entry via a USSD platform.

Entrants will be prompted to select one of five possible dream situations - attend their matric dance with Heavy K, get Khaya Mthethwa to perform at their church, go on a R10 000 shopping spree with Mafikizolo’s Nhlanhla, receive an exclusive performance by Woza Africa for their Stokvel group or ask for Winnie Mashaba to come to their birthday party.

These are just some special dreams and Boxer, with selected Unilever brands, are making them possible.

But that is not all - there is still a grand prize for one lucky Boxer shopper - two VIP Tickets to the 2016 South African Music Awards (SAMA). This prize includes flights for two to Johannesburg, accommodation for two in a hotel overnight as well as transport via limo from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the awards ceremony and back.

As if that is not enough, another life-changing campaign has been revealed - “Win a Dream Wedding” which will run during September, October and November.

Win a Dream Wedding will see customers purchasing two Vaseline, Ponds or Dawn products to enter the competition via USSD and stand a chance of winning their dream wedding worth R100 000.

This prize includes venue and car hire, catering, groom’s attire, bride’s hair and make-up, wedding cake, wedding dress, spending money, bridesmaids’ dresses, one night honeymoon suite, videographer and photographer.

Understanding the financial implications a wedding can have, Boxer’s Win a Dream Wedding competition will bring much-needed relief to any couple. However, the winning couple will need to have their wedding by March 2016.

“We are proud and excited to be collaborating with Unilever on not one, but three campaigns. Understanding that all shoppers want value for their money, and noticing the positive impact previous Boxer competitions have made in the lives of our shoppers is reason to continue with Boxer’s innovation and collaborations.

“Through our three campaigns, we ensure that our customer receives more than one chance of winning. Boxer is known for making dreams come true and over these three months we get to witness the joy and excitement of our shoppers as they enter our competitions and we get to celebrate with the one’s who win them. That is our reward,” said Boxer’s national brand manager, Lee-Ann Pillay.
