THE movie, Stop 666, is to be aired on DStv, channel 161, Mzansi Magic, once confirmation dates are established.

Stop 666 is the brainchild of Mondli Makhaye who has made a name for himself by writing, directing and producing local movies.

One of his well-known movies Izinyembezi Zabasifazane (Tears of Women) came out in 2014 nd won the “Best KZN Film” at the Young Achievers Awards last year.

Last Saturday IMondli Art Productions released Stop 666 at Esigodini sports ground.

Makhaye said the launch officially introduced the movie to the people of Greater Edendale and Pietermaritzburg.

He said seeing a lot of schools in Greater Edendale areas are affected by satanism prompted him to write the script.

“A lot of research and the reading of the Bible was done thoroughly. I spoke to pastors and read the Bible so I could write something I understand.

“Pastors whom I spoke to shared with what they understood and knew about the practice. Using my actors we came up with a movie, which is now out.

“The movie was recorded in Esigodini, with some of the scenes being shot at night. We worked hard on this project and hope that people receive it as we expect them to,” said Makhaye.

The movie is about a young girl who was forced to join a satanic group, but after her parents were killed and she joined the group voluntarily.

“In the end she was saved by a pastor. As a team we can’t wait to see our movie on television. This shows that we are growing as a team. We have submitted the movie and we are waiting for the confirmation date of when it will be televised,” said Makhaye.
