Fascinating music at Rainbow Restaurant in Pinetown on Sunday

2015-06-11 06:01

THE Rainbow Restaurant and Jazz Club in Pinetown will be the host of the closing concert of the Zakifo Muzik Festival with Reunion artist Nathalie Natiembé and “King of Salegy” Jaojoby from Madagasca.

Made possible by the Alliance Français, Concerts SA, Zakifo Muzik Festival and Castle Draught 1895 the festival takes place from 11 to 13 June.

This is the first time the festival has been to Durban. It is an offshoot of the original sister festival Sakifo, an annual music event in Reunion which began in 2004.

Rainbow co-owner Neil Comfort said: “So when the organisers said they would like to close their event at the Rainbow we said ’yes please’,”

“Zakifo are bringing Reunion musician and star of the opening night - Nathalie Natiembé - to perform for us and the Alliance Français are bringing Madagascan “King of Salegy” Jaojoby to the party too - this is going to be unbelievable.”

Doors at the Rainbow open at 1pm and admission is R60.

Tickets are available at the Rainbow, Pick n Pay or online on www.webtickets.co.za/event.aspx?itemid=409794326
