AMAZULU striker Joel Faya says he is hurting after being shown the door at the club.

Usuthu have started clearing out following relegation from the Absa Premiership, with the chief scout one of those having to make way.

“I’m feeling bad as you know. I have been part of the club for a very long time now,” Faya told KickOff.com

“I played and worked for the club in various positions, so it hurts that I’m the one who has been released as there are so many things I have done for the club.

“But it is one of those things. I understand the club must work according to what they will earn in the NFD as the financial grant from the PSL is not the same as in the top division.”

AmaZulu are still deciding which players will stay and which will go. Mbulelo Mabizela has reportedly been persuaded to stay on, but Sfiso Hlanti, Marc van Heerden and Goodman Dlamini look to be on their way out. - Supplied
