LAST Saturday was described as being “fabulous” for road running by the Greater Edendale race organisers as participants converged on the FNB Wadley Stadium for the ninth edition of the popular 10km race and fun run.

The race is hosted by the Comrades Marathon Association in conjunction with the Msunduzi Municipality, the Msunduzi-Pietermaritzburg Tourism Association and supported by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.

“The much-loved annual event saw an amazing turnout by the community, in terms of participation and support. Prize money to the value of R15 000 was presented to winners in various categories, as well as additional lucky draw prizes, courtesy of the CMA and attorneys, Venn Nemeth and Hart, and a computer course sponsored by PC Training College,” said the organisers in a press release.

Philane Buthelezi took the first prize of R2 500 for the first man home and Janet Dlamini also earned herself R2 500 for being the first woman home.
