SWEETWATERS deejay, Siboniso Latha (27), won the Best DJ award at the Live Your Dream awards in Durban last week and thanks all who voted for him to make his dream come true.

Latha competed against eight deejays all fighting for the same title, but through his faith and the love he got from his fans, he won.

“This award is the key that will open many doors for me and I will be using it as a tool to knock on many doors.

I am grateful to all who voted for me, because without them I wouldn’t be smiling and sharing this story.

“It is such a great experience and feeling to know that people love what you do as a person. The moments before the announcement was made were nerve-racking, but I managed to deal with it. I had faith and I knew that with all my effort, it could be me.

“My thoughts turned to reality when they called my name and crowned me the winner. Thank you to everyone who took their time texting their phones and voting for me. I will be forever thankful for their commitment and loyalty,’ said Latha.

This was Latha’s first nomination and his first award.

“I’m like a small fire that has had petrol poured over it. From now on I will be on fire and nothing will slow me down as I lift my head hight and go forward.”
