DISASTER relief organisation, Gift of the Givers Foundation has distributed 20 000 litres of water to parts of KwaPata which have been without water since last week.

Msunduzi Municipality Ward 10 councillor, Msizi Ngcobo, said he was not too sure whether it was the drought or maintenance that cut the water supply.

“From last week I noticed there was no water supply in KwaPata. At the moment we don’t know what is happening, but the community should know we have spoken to management to have this attended to,” said Ngcobo.

Gallons of water were distributed to KwaPata by Gift of the Givers during the course of this week.

Msunduzi Municipality spokesperson Nqobile Madonda said that water supply in affected areas has been restored.

“There was some maintenance work being done from the Umgeni Water side, so the supply was affected, however the full water supply has been restored and all residents should now have water.

“If there is still anyone without water they should report the matter to 0800 001 868,” she said.
