Buy ticket to win

THE seventh Engo For our Children Project has been running for four months now and centres are working very hard to sell those For our Children tickets. By 15 August a total of 5 450 tickets at R20 each have been sold.

This annual fundraising initiative, in which a brand-new vehicle can be won, is run by Engo, together with Volksblad’s Central Newspapers, Imperial GM Bloemfontein and Radio Rosestad for the benefit of Engo Free State.

This year a lucky sponsor (ticket buyer) can drive away with a Chevrolet Spark Campus worth R119 500! The goal of this project is to generate additional funds for especially children in Engo Child- and Youth-Care Centres, as well as children in foster care.

“We supported almost 4 000 children with this project in 2014,” said Magda van Niekerk, director of professional services at Engo.

Engo Free State consists of six sub-programmes, including child- and youth-care centres.

“During the previous book year, the government subsidised only 26% of Engo’s total income, so this project is critical for the survival of our centres,” said Jana Marx, Engo’s public relations officer and organiser of this project.

“Tickets cost only R20. By making this R20 donation, you’re immediately being considered for the Chev Spark lucky draw,” Marx added.

Tickets are available at all Engo centres across the Free State, as well as at several promotions, according to the calendar below.

Ticket sales close on 20 November and five finalists will be drawn and announced by PwC on 11 January 2016. The final draw function, where the winner of the Spark will be announced, will be held on 22 January 2016.

The four remaining finalists will each receive a prize worth R2 000.

De Wet Claassens, director of Management Support Services, encourages all readers to take part in this project. “You can just read the newspaper to become aware of the misery in the world. Please buy your ticket and strengthen our hands here at Engo to bring hope in the lives of 4 000 children.”

Engo has a food budget of R15 per child per day. If you buy one ticket, we can provide one child with the following:

Breakfast: tea, one glass of milk, porridge, slices of bread.

Break time: two slices of bread with peanut butter spread.

Lunch: 1 x chicken breast, 100 g cabbage, 100 g spinach and maize.

Dinner: four slices of toast and one cup of soup.

Imagine what can happen if you buy a whole booklet containing ten tickets.
