College hosts race

THE 2015 Goldfields Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College’s Campus-to-Campus Road Race will be held on Saturday, April 18.

In a media statement, the college said that the event was held to promote sport at the college as well as in the broader community, as they also gave prizes for primary and secondary schools that had the most participants in the different race distances.

Sakkie Peters, the marketing officer responsible for partnerships, linkages and student placement, said they also brought communities together through the unique concept of this event.

The start of the 21 km race is at the Tosa Campus in Thabong, with the first 6 to 8 kilometers of the route through the streets of Thabong.

This concept had been widely embraced by both the athletes and the community of Thabong.

The Campus-to-Campus event is an annual event of the Goldfields TVET College which has become one of the prime road race events on the calendar of Free State Athletics. It has built the reputation of a well-organised and quality event, highly rated by officials and athletes.

The event comprises three races Athletes can choose from the Campus-to-Campus 21 km road race, the 10 km run/walk and the 5 km fun run.
